Jake Wessling is an adventure enthusiast. He was born in England, but quickly moved to Minnesota at a young age. His first adrenaline filled passion began by riding dirt bikes at the age of 3.  He was racing by age 5 which led to 13 years of competitive racing in Motocross and 3 years in UTV’s. Finding a full-throttle in winter months didn’t take long, Jake began riding snowmobiles at 9 years old on a 1989 Yamaha Sno Scoot. As years went on, Jake began to venture off trail which led him to riding out west for the first time when he was 14. He continued his devotion for snowmobiling and racing snow bikes while obtaining a degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of North Dakota. After graduating, he was commissioned into the U.S. Army Active duty stationed in Oklahoma and then Hawaii for 4 years. While living in Hawaii he was very active in competing and riding Hard Enduro Motocross. Throughout this time, he satisfied his abundant snow cravings with annual trips to the west and to Alaska. Jake moved to Idaho Falls, ID in January 2023 to chase his passion for backcountry snowmobiling. Immediately he signed up for AIARE 1, 2, and rescue courses through Ride Rasmussen Style. Fulfilling a career goal since he was 15, Jake is ecstatic to join our team; to teach Avalanche education, coach the basics of riding, and explore the backcountry with his clients. He takes pride in making sure that you have an enjoyable, memorable, and safe experience. Jake looks forward to a great year in this new venture and making lasting memories in the mountains with others.
